Mental Health Awareness Month

BonePage observes Mental Health Awareness Month each May. BonePage.com observes Mental Health Awareness Month during the month of May. This is a time to reflect, support, and advocate for something that impacts every single one of us: mental health. As a sex-positive community, we believe in embracing our full selves, including mind, body, and soul. This includes recognizing and addressing mental well-being. This is especially true in a world that often tells us to hide our struggles. Have you felt the need to hide your mental health struggles? I suspect we all have at various times in our lives.

Brief History of Mental Health Awareness Month

Mental Health Awareness Month has been observed every May since 1949. Mental Health Awareness Month was spearheaded by Mental Health America (MHA). The goal has always been to raise awareness about mental illness, educate the public, and reduce the stigma that prevents people from seeking help. Over the decades, this movement has grown internationally, with organizations, healthcare providers, and communities coming together to promote mental wellness and open dialogue.

Mental Health Needs: We All Have Them

Understanding Mental Health Needs

We encourage you to seek help for your mental health needs.Just like physical health, mental health exists on a spectrum. We all experience ups and downs. Some days we’re thriving, and other days we’re barely hanging on. And that’s okay.

Whether it’s anxiety, depression, PTSD, ADHD, or simply feeling overwhelmed by life, mental health challenges are nothing to be ashamed of. Every one of us, at some point, needs a little extra support.

It’s time to move away from the outdated stigma that says seeking help is a weakness. Taking care of your mental health is a sign of strength and it can be life-changing.

What You Can Do If You’re Struggling

Talk to Someone
